Full arch dental implants

What are full arch dental implants?

The full arch dental implant procedure – often referred to as ‘All-on-4®’, 'teeth in a day', 'same day teeth' or the 'same day smile‘- is a hugely popular solution that can permanently replace an entire arch of teeth - either upper or lower. The main procedure takes only one day.

It only takes 4 – 6 dental implants to support an entire arch of teeth (instead of the usual 8-10 implants).  And as our expert implant surgeons use the latest technology, your new teeth can last up to a lifetime.

Why New Life Teeth full arch dental implants?

Full arch dental implants are the ultimate alternative to dentures and also provide an ideal solution for patients whose teeth are missing or failing. As they don’t require conventional bone grafting they are even suitable for people who’ve been told they can’t have traditional implants. The main implant surgery can take place under local anaesthetic in just one day.

At New Life Teeth we recommend the Prettau®Bridge. As an alternative, we also offer the removable cobalt chrome / acrylic bridge. Both solutions deliver bright, natural-looking teeth.

Our team will provide you with a range of options that let you choose the shape of teeth – and the colour – that suit you best.

We offer a full free, no-obligation consultation process with our clinical experts and implant surgeons to help you discover if the treatment is right for you.

“It is the ultimate fixed solution”

The Prettau®Bridge is named after region of Prettau in Northern Italy and was originated by Zirkonzahn the leader in Zirconia dental technology.

At New Life Teeth we have a complete Zirkonzahn milling centre to design and make onsite these beautiful Prettau bridges. When you look at every other available option in Implant Dentistry, Prettau has so many advantages. Compared to implant acrylic (Plastic) over-dentures, or any hybrid acrylic (Plastic) implant bridge, this is far superior. The New Life Teeth team have committed to being one of leading Prettau® Bridge practices in the UK and Internationally. Clients have always come us to transform their lives, and with Prettau® we feel we can serve the needs of the Full Arch Implant client optimally.

The Prettau® bridge is the longest lasting, most effective way to replace your missing teeth, bar none, and we are proud to offer it to our patients. The New Life Teeth team have undergone special training by Zirkonzahn, the parent company of Prettau and are one of only a few qualified practices to deliver this incredible option.

Your Treatment Journey

Before committing to anything you can take advantage of our full, free consultation service.

Our team will explain how the treatment works and walk you through the entire process. They’ll carry out a full mouth assessment and explain all the options open to you.

They will also show you the range of teeth options available to you – both shape and colour – to help you decide the look that best suits you.

We’ll then arrange for you to meet our implant surgeon, Dr Stuart Lutton, who’ll discuss all the dental procedures with you.

Stuart will carry out a CT bone density scan, which measures the density, width and depth of your jaw bone. This information enables Stuart to judge if your jaw is suitable for a full arch dental implant.

He will then recap all the options open to you and answer any questions you have about the clinical treatment.

At this point you’ll be given an itemised treatment plan to take away with you. You’ll also have ongoing access to us to ask any follow-up questions to help you make your final decision.

Pre-op Appointment

The next step is to meet with our implant co-ordinator to go over all the pre-operation checks and information.

We’ll walk you through the whole procedure and explain in detail what medication you’ll take both pre and post-op.

You’ll also be given a further X-ray review to check all is in order before signing our consent to treatment form.

We will also create a 3D digitalisation of your face using the ground-breaking Face Hunter scanner. This delivers an almost photo-realistic preview of the final result and gives you a clear idea of how the final result will look.

The Procedure

On the day of your procedure Stuart will first extract any teeth that need to be removed.

The 4 – 6 dental implants will then be placed into your jawbone following the personalised digital plan for your treatment. Anaesthetic and sedation solutions are available to ensure the treatment remains relatively painless.

You will then rest in our supervised treatment lounge - complete with Wi-Fi and television - while our Master Technician creates your customised prototype bridge.

A few hours later Stuart will fit your bridge to the implants and the day’s treatment will be complete. You will be able to resume normal activities within a day or so.

The review

We’ll call you in the days following the procedure to make sure everything is OK and to answer any questions you may have at this stage.

Between 10 and 14 days after the prototype bridge is fitted you’ll come back for a review with Stuart. He’ll remove your bridge and take your stitches out (don’t worry it’s not painful) before replacing the bridge and making sure it’s fitting well. This appointment will only take 30 minutes.

The permanent bridge

After the 3 to 4 months needed to allow your implants to settle, the process to fit your teeth takes place over a few short appointments.

Our Master Technician will meet with you to take new impressions of your mouth to ensure your new bridge is built to reflect your unique measurements. We’ll then use the latest technology to check that your customised bridge will be a perfect fit, including speech, bite and aesthetic checks, before our master technician creates your final teeth for Stuart to fit and check.

You’ll then come back for a review to make sure everything is as it should be. We’ll also discuss your ongoing hygiene programme, which will be managed by us or by your own dentist, depending on which route you prefer.  We’ll also send your dentist a full report on your treatment.
